Monday we drove Claire and friend Meagan to Sacramento to attend EFY at California State Sacramento (which is where her grandma Joy graduated from college in Physical Education, just thought I'd throw that in) Greg and I then flew off to Seattle WA to visit our dear friends the Fields and the Merrills in Gig Harbor. We spent the evening with them, and spent the night with Merrills.
Tuesday late morning we hit the road to Mt Vernon where we met up with Joslyn. Joslyn showed us around the nursery she works and then showed us around Bellingham where she lives. We followed her up there. We had Pita Pits(?) for dinner, sitting on a bench over looking a beautiful scene - on the edge of a cove/bay at a park with lots of people enjoying the park and the view and the weather. It was beautiful.
We headed up to Vancouver after our visit with Joslyn. This trip is to celebrate 25 years of marriage - which really is in Dec - but this was a good time to take a trip since Claire was at EFY.
We went to Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island, and drove around Victoria - on Wednesday. Thursday we went to Stanley Park, toured around in a horse pulled trolley, visited the aquarium there and then went to the Vancouver temple which is really in Langley. Today is Friday and we are headed back to Sacramento via a flight out of Seattle - if we ever get there. We will pick up Claire and Megan tomorrow morning bright and early.

Mt Rainier from Gig Harbor - it is the same mountain I saw from the airplane. It is usually under cloud cover so we were lucky to see the mountain from Gig Harbor.

Friendship Arch - something lovely to look at while you're sitting, waiting, waiting, waiting to cross the border from Canada to the US.
I wasn't paying attention while we crawled along past this cute little cabin. I'm not exactly sure what it is but it's pretty and there's a little sign on a post that mentions something about renting. I just wonder to who - the people who are stuck trying to get across the border?

"Wait! Wait for me!" Can you see her? A lady running to her family/friends. People would get out and walk around, visit the park around the border. But seeing people run to the cars that got further along than they expected was not an uncommon site.
