We had a great little get away, to Angel's Camp near Sonora CA and boated and jet skied on New Malones Lake http://www.usbr.gov/mp/ccao/field_offices/new_melones/images/new_melones_index02.jpg. The water level was very low, but it is still a very deep lake, with lots of space and it is California "Summer dry" beautiful right now, and uncrowded. It really is a great lake. We went with friends, the Wallaces. They brought their boat, and we brought our jet skis. It was an ideal set up. We left late Thursday morning, launched as soon as we arrived at the lake and spent the rest of the day out on the water. We stayed at the Best Western in Angel's Camp. Friday late morning (more like noon) we made it back out to the lake where we spent the remainder of the day cruising around. We couldn't ask for a better time.

Just an idea of the area and the bridge - compare it to the link picture.

What to do on a "tube" raft - relax or...

Hold on for dear life!

Just standin' around
